Bus pickup
From the school door to ours
Our bus serves four elementary schools nearby. You tell us your child's school when you register, and we put the school on the route.
Step 1: The last bell
A Thermos staff member meets the group at the school door and checks each name against that school's list before anyone steps on the bus.
Step 2: The ride
Two adults ride every trip: the driver and a monitor. Children stay seated, and the monitor counts again at each stop.
Step 3: The front door
We walk in together, hang coats and bags at the cubbies and sign every child in on the arrival list.
Step 4: Snack and homework
Hands are washed, snack is set at the long tables, and homework hour begins as soon as everyone has sat down.
At the end of the day
Pickup is at the front door
Adults on your list come to the front door any time before 7:00 p.m., sign the child out and show photo ID until we know them. A staff member walks each child to the door, and a child never leaves on their own.

When the day changes
What the bus does on a different kind of day
Early dismissal
On early-dismissal days the bus goes at dismissal and the afternoon starts earlier. We text families the week before.
Snow and ice
When the school district closes for weather we text before 5:00 a.m. to say whether we open. If the roads are poor, the bus does not run and we tell you which stops are affected.
Walkers and drop-off
Children from other schools can be dropped off at our door between 2:45 p.m. and 4:00 p.m. and sign in with the staff member at the front table.
Ask us about your child's school
Call and we will tell you whether the route stops there, or register for a place.
