Family policies

What families ask before the first day, answered plainly.

Photos of your child

We ask your written permission before we share any photo of your child, on this site, in newsletters or on social media, and you can change your answer at any time. We never put a child's name with a photo, and the photos on this site are examples until we replace them with our own.

Drop-off and pickup

Staff walk each child to the front door, and a child leaves only with an adult on your authorized list. The adult signs the child out at the front table with the time and shows photo ID until we know them. If someone new is coming, tell us in writing before that day.

Late pickup

We close at 7:00 p.m. If you are running late, call or text and a staff member stays with your child. A late pickup goes in your file, and how it is billed is in the terms you receive when you register. If it happens often, the director will call you to talk it through.

When to keep your child home

A child with a fever, vomiting or a contagious rash stays home until they have been well for a full day. If a child becomes ill here, we call the first person on your list and a staff member stays with the child until you arrive.

Meals, snacks and allergies

A snack opens every afternoon, such as fruit, crackers or yogurt, with water, and children who stay past 5:30 p.m. have a supper plate. On school closings we serve lunch and two snacks. Tell us about allergies at the tour; we ask privately once you enroll.

Closures for weather and holidays

On school closings we are open from 6:30 a.m. We are closed on Thanksgiving Day, during the winter holidays and on Independence Day. When the school district closes for weather, we text before 5:00 a.m. to say whether we open.

Screens and phones

Children do not use phones or tablets during the afternoon. A child who brings a phone keeps it switched off in the backpack, and if you need to reach your child, call us and we will bring them to the phone.

Leaving the program

We ask for two weeks' written notice before a child leaves or changes days, so another family can have the place. Tell us on the contact form or at the front table.
